Ingredients for 10 turnovers.:

  • 2 apples
  • 100 gr raisins
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 10 leaves puff pastry
  • 2 table spoons of sugar
  • yolk of 2 eggs
  • cinnamon powder

How to prepare it:

Start by defrosting the pastry puff leaves and pre heating the oven to 220 degrees.

Peel the skin of the apples and remove the seeds, cut the apples into small pieces. Put the raisins, the apple, the cinnamon stick and 1 table spoon of sugar into a small pan. Put the pan on the stove, stir once in a while and let everything bake for about 5 minutes. The apples doesn’t need to become completely soft but by preheating the filling the flavours already mix and the turnovers become more soft and tasty.

Take the pan of the stove. Place the pastry leaves on your counter. Remove the covers. Put some of the filling on the pastry (nicely in the middle), make sure you don’t use to much filling so that the turnover can still close nicely.

Divide the eggs and use the yolk to grease in two edges of the pastry. Fold the turnovers and use the teeth of a fork to close the turnovers firmly.

Now use the remaining yolk to grease to top of the turnovers, sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on top. You can now put the turnovers into the oven and bake them for 12 minutes.

They are lovely when they are still a bit warm.

Enjoy!
