Recipe for the basic art of baking crispy potatoes slices. Easy peasy and delicious with a bit of salt and mayonnaise. I will share some more special variations at a later stage but this ‘regular’ recipe is sometimes just as good!

Ingredients for 2 pers.:

  • 5 large potatoes
  • butter

How to prepare it:

Peel the potatoes, rinse them and put them in a large pan. Add enough water till the potatoes are covered and put the pan on the stove. Boil the potatoes for about 8 min, they still need to be a bit firm.

Take the pan of the stove and rinse the potatoes. Cool them down and cut them into thin slices.

Put a large baking pan on the stove and add some butter.

Bake the slices for about 5 minutes on each side or until they turn slightly brown.

With this number of slices, you most likely need to bake them into different batches to get the best results. I usually bake them into different batches and just add the batches that are already cooled down at the last moment to heat them up again.
