Time flies and we are facing New Year’s eve again! During the dark months of the year we are always flying from one party into the next, St Nicholas, Christmas, New Year’s and after that my own birthday. The biggest culinary challenge is of course Christmas, I just love making a big fancy meal to show off with and stand in the kitchen the entire day.

But the advantage of New Years eve is of course; playing games and eat finger food the entire evening…I’m not saying no to that at all! I just love having all those different, homemade snacks. However, you got to plan everything carefully to make sure you are not cooking all night.

That’s one reason why I would advise you to get a blender, it makes your life sooo much easier. You just put everything in the blender and mix it and it’s ready to go.

As promised I will post some easy, quick, but mainly very tasty homemade snacks that go really well with a good glass of champagne. Today I’ll start with two easy olive pastes and with these two the secret is; not adding too many different ingredients.

  • 1 clove of garlic

Drain down the fluid from the olives and put them in a jar when using your blender. Add the capers. Strip the garlic and cut out the root. Squeeze the garlic over the olives. Mash the mixture in your blender until it forms a nice and soft paste. Finally add some olive oil and blend it a bit more to make the paste smooth and creamy.
