Now that we are actually completely settles in our new house I can start to focus on my foodblog again.
🙂 A great excuse to invite friends and family over for a nice dinner and to share our happiness at home. One of the nice surprises we had ourselves was the small apple tree that actually carries a whole lot of apples. So this weekend it was finally time to harvest the apples and to make applesauce!!! The best applesauce that there is, is a homemade one!

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tea spoons cinnamon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 table spoon sugar

How to prepare it:

Peel the skin of the apples and remove the seeds. Squeeze the lemon. Add all the ingredients together with a sip of water into a saucepan. Put the pan on the stove. Stir a bit and once it’s boiling you can turn down the fire. Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes (depending on the kind of apple you are using). Stir once in a while and once you feel its soft enough you can take the pan of the stove.

Remove the cinnamon stick and let the applesauce cool down.

You can easily keep applesauce into the freezer so if you want to make a big batch once that works fine.

Further, I don’t add a lot of sugar but of course you can add some more depending on your own taste.
