Ingredients for 4 pers.:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 oxheart cabbage
  • 2 apples
  • 100 gr walnuts
  • 1 table spoon of crème fraiche
  • Milk
  • Salt and pepper

How to prepare it:

Peel the potatoes and cut them in small blocks, wash them and put them on the stove, completely covered with water.

Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Put a frying pan on the stove, add a bit of butter. Bake the apples for a couple of minutes until they look golden brown. Make sure to stir once in a while.

Cut the oxheart cabbage into small pieces.

Chop the walnuts a bit but not too much since they need to provide a nice bite to the mash.

Once the potatoes are boiling for about 7 minutes you can add the cabbage. Check after another 5 minutes if the potatoes are well done (you can test it with a fork). If they are ready, drain them down. Add some milk, the crème fraiche and some salt and pepper and mash the potatoes. You can add some extra milk if needed to make it softer. Once everything is mixed well, add the apple and the walnuts. Stir once more and it’s ready to go!
