One of my best friends came over for diner so I decided to make her a special dessert as I know she loves Cointreau; Panna Cotta with orange, mint and Cointreau. Fortunately, the taste was goooood!! Unfortunately the texture was a bit too much jelly-pudding-like. But I found how to fix it so with this recipe you will have both the taste as well as the structure right!

Ingredients for 2 pers.:

  • 1 orange
  • fresh mint
  • 200 ml cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • 3 gelatin leaves
  • 1 vanillastick
  • 70 ml Cointreau
  • 100 gr sugar

How to prepare it:

Grate the skin of the orange and chop it. Chop the mint as well. Cut the stick of vanilla open and remove the seeds. Put a small pan on the stove. Add the milk, the cream, the vanilla seeds and the vanilla stick. Add the grated orange and the mint as well. Bring the mixture to a boiling point.

Put the gelatin leaves into a bit of cold water. Add the sugar to the pan and let it melt, stir well. Once the sugar is melted you can add the gelatin leaves. Make sure they evaporate completely, let the mixture boil for a moment.

Take the pan of the stove and add the Cointreau. Stir once more and poor the mixture into the serving dishes. Put them into the fridge for at least 4 hours to thicken.

Take the dishes from the fridge and garnish the dish with some mint and orang grates.

Enjoy!
