Lovely day-to-day fish dish. Some types of fish do not need much work, plaice is definitely one of those fishes. However served with a nice vegetable sauce and some crispy potatoes is the best! Great to enjoy on a workday as it is easy to make and very healthy.

Ingredients for 2 pers.:

  • 2 plaice fillets
  • 400 gr tomato cubes in tomato sauce
  • 150 gr cherry tomatoes
  • 1 lime
  • 50 gr black olives
  • balsamic syrup
  • fresh basil leaves
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper

How to prepare it:

Cut the tomatoes in quarters and place a low-pitched frying pan on the stove. Heat up some olive oil and add the tomato’s and a good sip of balsamic syrup. Add the tomato cubes. Cut the olives in thin slices, chop the basil. Squeeze out the lime. Add the chopped basil, the olives, the lime juice and some salt and pepper. Bring the sauce to a boiling point and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Place a second frying pan on the stove. Add some oil and heat it up. Dry the fillets and season them with some salt and pepper. Fry the plaice fillets on both sides for a couple of minutes.

Scoop a bit of the tomato sauce on to the plates, place the fish on top. Use some basil leave as decoration.
