I’m going to make my sisters very happy with my blogpost today. Ever since they learned that I’m working on this blog they’ve asked me to place this specific recipe. The recipe contains one of my favorite ingredients: Avocado! The recipe of today is a snack with avocado’s and taco chips. It’s a success story for parties and get-togethers!

….and being completely honest, today’s recipe is not a really healthy but its sooo good, so who cares about those calories?!

Writing this, I actually have to laugh a little bit, since I know that a lot of people really do care about those calories… we have multiple discussions in and around the office about which diet is better or healthier than all the other ones. And yes, some of us are lucky and don’t have to count calories on a daily basis and I’m not saying that you should give up and don’t care about it anymore; definitely not. I have a lot of respect of people who take good care of their body.

But come on, admit it; everybody needs to let go once in a while and just enjoy! Hahaha I can see the little devil above my shoulder laughing but just really; Be tempted by the flavours below! Get out of your safe zone….. go wild and taste the Calorie-Bomb! :):)

Ingredients:

  • 2 avocados
  • 1 package of taco spice mix
  • 250 ml creme fraiche
  • lemon juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 spring onions
  • Grated young cheese

How to prepare it:

Start with the avocado’s; peel off their skin and put them in the blender with a bit of the lemon juice to prevent the avocado from turning brown. Mix the avocado’s till they become a smooth sauce. Spread the sauce over a flat plate, covering the entire bottom. Mix the crème fraiche with the left over lemon juice and half of the taco spices mix. Once mixed well, spread the mix on top of the avocado, completely covering the avocado. Boil some water to peel of the skin of the tomato; make a small cross in the upper skin of the tomato and put it in a bowl, poor the cooking water over it. Once the skin is getting loose, take out the tomato and rinse with really cold water. Remove the skin and pulp and cut the tomato in small blocks. Cut the spring union in very small round, pieces. Cover the crème fraiche mix with the tomato, spring union and some cheese.

Serve the dip with taco chips on the side.

I can never get enough of this, it’s really a nice snack!
